Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a certain method your school teaches?
Our class sizes are small so we have the flexibility to work with you on a personal level. We believe in keeping your program fun and stimulating without hitting an overly tiring amount of balls. On our private golf course we have the flexibility to balance your instruction between range and golf course coaching.
What dates do you have the golf schools?
If you two or more people you can essentially pick your dates. If you're planning a visit alone give us a call and we'll do our best to accomodate your dates. Three-day classes typical run Friday through Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday.
Are your instructors trained through the PGA?
We are a PGA recognized Golf School. This means we have a Class A professional on staff (Kris Moe, Mark Favell, Ron Castillo, Billy Bonduruk and Dugal Milne) and the staff is trained through the PGA's Golf Professional's Training Program (GPTP). Learn more about us.
What else is there to do there?
The Sonoma Valley and the surrounding area has something for everyone. There are the wineries, spas, shopping in the town's historic town square, biking (and mountain biking), hiking, ballooning, Infinion raceway and the Sonoma Valley Culinary School, Ramekins. For more of what is happening in an around Sonoma, go to the Sonoma Valley Visitor's Bureau.
How long of the drive from San Francisco or Oakland Airport?
An hour and a half (try to avoid traffic hours).
Do you have directions?
Yes, you can go into our directions page and print out the directions from San Francisco and the East Bay.
Is there a shuttle from the airport?
Yes. The Sonoma Airporter is shuttle service company from San Francisco Airport. They charge $28 each way per rider. Their schedule can be found at their website or you can talk to them at 707-938-4246. If you should need a car in and around Sonoma you can always rent a car from local companies in Sonoma (i.e. Enterprise).
What happens if it rains?
The rainy season is typically in January and February. You will be credited or fully refunded for the time rained out.
Should I bring or wear anything special for the school?
If you don't have clubs we can rent them for $75 each day you play the course. These are top-of-the-line Titleist and Cobras. The golf course requires soft spikes, so if don't have them yet, we can replace your metal spikes for $5. No blue jeans and men are asked to wear collared shirts. Sun screen and a sun hat are a good idea.
Where do we meet?
For Sonoma, after you pull into the Sonoma Golf Club gates you will turn left and see the driving range, one of our greeters will load your golf bag onto a cart and direct you towards the golf school meeting place. Our other locations we meet in front of the golf shop.
